I am in the first week of a five week business continuity programme, so the jury is out on how much of this awareness of natural disasters translates into enthusiasm for developing business continuity plans! In the UK natural disasters, on the whole, are not very wide-scale and haven’t caused many deaths.

If this was a busy commuter line into a major city and your staff mainly come in to work by train you may have to put your business continuity plans into place to deal with the lack of staff. The more resilient our business, even without a business continuity plan the more likely they are going to survive.
