Recently I went to an excellent seminar in Dundee organised by the Tayside Local Resilience Partnership titled “Managing responders needs during a mass fatalities incident”. Some notes from the seminar, which I thought, I would share with you. Some of the practicalities of managing the aftermath of incidents were mentioned.

Yesterday I attended a seminar on ‘Managing Community Cohesion After Major Terrorist Attacks’ at the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service Headquarters in Glasgow. Just 15% of people on average manage to remain calm and rational enough to make decisions that could save their lives. They become mentally paralysed.
