The 1970s were a period in which Kuhn's ideas were vigorously debated by people who were much more knowledgeable in the philosophy of science than I will ever be (Meiland 1974, Nickles 2003, Scheffler 1972). susceptible t o fads and fashions instead of true paradigms? This severely limited the applicability of the theory.
