What Was the Biggest Hurricane to Hit Louisiana Since Katrina?

Hint, it was just this year...

We talk about citizens having disaster amnesia, but how about emergency managers having disaster amnesia?

I’m sure those who lived through it can tell us, but there are so many disasters that hit each year — even I can’t keep track of them all, and now they are naming winter storms too! The one that hit Texas (remember that 2021 disaster?) was Winter Storm Uri.

The answer to the question about the biggest storm to hit Louisiana since Hurricane Katrina is, drum roll please, Hurricane Ida. It caused $65 billion in damages to eight states and killed 82 people.

You can’t tell the disaster players without a program!
