Cyber Fatigue

Can you be “always prepared"?

The motto of the United States Coast Guard is “Semper Paratus,” which means “always ready.” This is the posture that the Biden administration is asking of businesses and critical infrastructure owners and operators as it concerns cybersecurity.

Is it asking too much? I don’t think so. Actually it is the same mission that every individual also has. If we want to protect our personal information, it is incumbent upon us to do due diligence in matters under our own control.

Keeping one’s guard up, be it in boxing or in cybersecurity, can be tiring, but consider the alternative. One is being punched in the face, the other is having your operations go dead because a cyber intruder has locked up your data or your system.
