I’m happy to announce that the book Disaster Management and Information Technology: Professional Response and Recovery Management in the Age of Disasters has finally crossed the finish line for publication. My two co-editors Hans Jochen Scholl and F. Kees Boersma deserve the credit for their review of the more academic contributions in the book. It was only with the vision, persistence and leadership from Hans that this publication actually came to fruition.
I’d also like to recognize the contributions from Pete Gaynor, former FEMA administrator, for writing one of the two forwards to the book, as well as the gang at Bent Ear Solutions for the chapter they provided on “Deploying Modern Technology for Disaster Management Practitioners,” a subject area they have deep expertise in.
