I was reading a document and came across the quote below. I don't claim to be an expert on the topic and I think we are still early in our journey on the topic of addressing equity in emergency management.

For your consideration:

The difference between diversity and inclusion. Diversity represents the numbers game in which one seeks to simply have people who look different and identify differently from one another in the room together, linked to the check box mentality. Inclusion takes it a step further to establishing a “mindset” by actively working to ensure a sense of belonging, value, and respect.
