SIA New Member Profile: NATANLife Security

NATANLife Security team

New Security Industry Association (SIA) member NATANLife Security helps entrepreneurs create sustainable companies that run autonomously. The company is headquartered in Glen Rose, Texas, and serves businesses across the United States.

SIA spoke with Zack Spelz, director of NATANLife Security, about the company, the security industry and working with SIA.

Tell us the story of your company.

Zack Spelz: After 20 years in the low voltage industry, I made an exit only to return refocused and reenergized. My career started right out of college as a sales rep for ADT’s Small Business division. I quickly worked my way into sales management, and after 10 years in various roles I left big blue to pursue entrepreneurship. Over the next 10 years I held many titles and wore even more hats learning how to operate a security integration company. I was mentored by some great people and finished up in executive level leadership for a regional company.

The NATAN Group was formed in 2013 to supplement the efforts of small business owners. Today we’re providing elite knowledge and tactics to fire, security and low voltage entrepreneurs with a specific mission: to show them how to create a sustainable business that runs autonomously.

What solutions/services does your business offer in the security industry? And what makes your offerings or your company unique?

ZS: We educate the executive team of businesses starting with identification of the facts across five domains of their business:

  • Sales and marketing
  • Installation and service
  • Team
  • Finances
  • The kingdom

Once a foundation is established, we then begin the journey to the summit by implementing systems, upskilling the talent and making incremental improvements to the point where we can put our foot on the gas and really grow.

What is something we might not know about your company – or something new you are doing in security?

ZS: We’ll soon be launching a platform that simplifies one of the most challenging aspects of businesses in our industry: the human element. We have a lot of firsthand experience with the burden of recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training and managing employees and want to make that easy for business owners and managers. This will automate that and allow them to focus on driving business and cash flow.

What is your company’s vision, and what are your goals for the security industry?

ZS: Our vision as a passionate group of entrepreneurs is to equip others to win their business game.  Our mission is being the catalyst for low voltage business owners that gets them past the point of wearing all the hats and having the business consume their lives.
