Prof. Shermon Cruz, Director and Chief Futurist of the Center for Engaged Foresight, speaks about futures and foresight at the National Academy of Science and Technology, Philippines (NAST PHL) 44th Annual Scientific Meeting (ASM) on July 13 in Manila with the theme, “PAGTANAW 2050: Agham Tungo sa Mabuting Kinabukasan (FORESIGHT 2050: Science for a Sustainable Future).

In 2021, the Department of Science and Technology through NAST PHL conducted year-long intensive research, assessment, workshops, and focus group discussions on preparing the science, technology, and innovation (STI) foresight 2050. Prof. Cruz provided support to the research project as a foresight expert and futures advisor to the Department of Science and Technology and the National Academy of Science and Technology.

Prof. Cruz will be sharing his insights on Global and Regional Foresight Networks at the conference.

Specifically, his talk will explore and delve into the questions of how do futurists and foresight practitioners network and organize in a scrambled world?
