Tracking Risk Management Bills by State

A great resource to follow legislative actions.

The email below ended up in my inbox and I thought it provided a great resource to risk managers and others who follow risk issues from a legislative perspective:

“I know risk managers need resources – reliable resources that are easy to use, but more importantly, accurate. As a gatekeeper of information, your responsibility is to learn the truth. Your reporting depends on having reliable, accurate facts to put in a meaningful context.

State Stats from BillTrack50 is such a resource – a quick convenient way to see the big picture. Our dashboard offers a statistical overview of each legislative session across the various states and Congress, including:

  • The breakdown of each legislature by party, both for the current session and over time
  • A summary of bills in the current legislative session by status, type, and party
  • A timeline of how many bills are introduced and pass each year

“Our latest addition to the dashboard is a visual of the breakdown of passed bills by party sponsorship over time. What a fantastic way to see what’s really going on! Especially for risk managers, ‘State Stats’ is just about the fastest way to verify what’s going on in any state or the U.S. Congress.

“And here’s the best news: access to the State Stats dashboard is completely free. You can also access our bill and legislator search tools for digging as far into the details as you wish by registering for a free BillTrack50 account here. We update the dashboard weekly, and our detailed legislator and bill data daily, so there’s always something new to see.

“Please check State Stats out for yourself. If you have any additional needs or requests or want to double check any of the information you are seeing, drop me an email at Karen@LegiNation.com.”
