Is There a Groundhog Pandemic in Our Future?

It ain’t over till it’s over.

You know, when the same day or same pandemic is repeated, again and again.

Everyone is sounding and acting like the worst of the pandemic is over — and it could actually be over. I just have this nagging suspicion that it might not be over, over. There are just too many unvaccinated people in the world, which creates a breeding ground for new variants.

I, along with everyone else, will be glad when the pandemic is a distant memory and we are just reminiscing about wearing masks and not commuting to work. For now, we must each decide how we will move forward. When and where will you wear a mask? Are you ready to go back to the movie theater? How do you feel about large indoor crowds? We personally skipped the Seattle flower show for that reason.

Hopefully we can all enjoy a summer free of the more onerous restrictions. Currently, mass transit still has a mask mandate, and even when it is dropped, I may wear a surgical mask on the train to Seattle. Who knows when I’ll ever get on a plane in the future.

Yes, when a fourth booster is announced, as I anticipate it will be in the fall, sign me up to be first in line!
