Clint Choate: Created out of respect and passion for smart technology, Snap One was founded by technology integrators who saw a better way to do things. We first took on the “Snap” name to represent our mission to make lives easier for our partners and the customers they serve. Since 2005, we’ve been making smart solutions for homes and businesses easy – a “snap.”

Our business has grown to include product design, manufacturing and distribution of smart solutions for homes and businesses. In more recent years, we have expanded to offer system design services, integrator training and software that centralizes smart home functionality and monitoring.

What solutions/services does your business offer in the security industry? And what makes your offerings/company unique?

CC: Snap One provides a variety of product solutions, services and training to the security industry. Our system design team can assist integrators as they plan and design a new or retrofit installation. On the product front, our categories include surveillance, smart home security, networking, IP power, lighting, access control, speakers, outdoor televisions and monitors, audio/video distribution, remote management, control systems, racks, wire and infrastructure and all the miscellaneous elements needed for install.

Snap One is unique in that we pride ourselves on being an end-to-end partner to our integrators. Our manufactured products are uniquely designed with the integrator in mind and we also distribute the most popular brands, enabling Snap One to be a one-stop shop. Beyond products, Snap One offers extensive training in multiple formats. In addition, we offer free webinars as well as in-person training through our Snap One Partner Stores.

What’s something we might not know about your company – or something new you’re doing in security?

CC: Snap One is a manufacturer and distributor of 50+ brands. Our most popular in-house brands are Control4 for smart home and business automation, WattBox for IP power, Araknis and Access Networks for networking, Luma and ClareVision for surveillance, Strong for mounting solutions and many more. To ensure our products are installed and supported properly, we only sell to approved integrators. This means our partners will never be price-shopped by their customers online. We also include our cloud-based remote monitoring platform, OVRC, free of charge to our partners designed to stop service calls in their tracks.

What is your company’s vision, and what are your goals for the security industry?

CC: Snap One’s vision is to bring together the best people, partners and products to make our customer’s lives more enjoyable, connected and secure. We strive to be the one company that integrators can come to for the best solutions, services and platforms.

Within the security industry, our goal is to understand our integrator’s needs so we can provide a comprehensive product line that is designed to streamline installation, simplify monitoring and support our integrators’ bottom line. Our product availability and world-class support drives our goal to be integrators’ one-stop-shop for everything they need.

What are the biggest challenges facing your company and/or others in the security industry?

CC: Capacity and inventory. Our partners need human resources/labor to continue to expand their businesses. We are investing in supplier partnerships, people, processes and equipment to improve both. The easier our equipment is to install, configure and service, this helps our partners become more efficient. One pillar of our Partner Pledge is product selection and availability with a focus on additional inventory and supply chain improvements.

What does SIA offer that is most important to you/your company? And what do you most hope to get out of your membership?

CC: Our SIA membership allows Snap One to connect with integrators and communicate to the security industry. It is invaluable in our pursuit for industry knowledge and firsthand experiences that drive our strategy.
