The Answer to Every Logistics Question Is ...

22 Trucks

I've stressed that logistics is what wins the disaster response. It is also key to winning on the battlefield.

See this article: What images of Russian trucks say about its military's struggles in Ukraine

When I was at the Infantry Advanced Course for Army captains, we had a standing joke that the solution to "every problem" is 22 trucks.

The above article points out the importance of the logistics system that has trucks as part of the backbone of a combat organization. Food, water, fuel, ammunition and spare parts for vehicles all are delivered by trucks.

I am reminded of this poem:

“A Little Neglect May Breed Great Mischief”
Root-Cause Thinking Reveals That We Are Only as Strong as Our Weakest Link

“For want of a nail, the shoe was lost.
For want of a shoe, the horse was lost.
For want of a horse, the rider was lost.
For want of a rider, the battle was lost.
For want of a battle, the kingdom was lost,
And all for the want of a horseshoe nail.”

Trucks or the lack of functional ones are the "missing nails" for Russians pursuing their invasion of Ukraine.
