The Security Industry Association is pleased to announce that Steve Reinharz, CEO of Artificial Intelligence Technology Solutions, has been selected as the new chair of SIA’s AI, Drones and Robotics Interest Group.

Reinharz previously served as a member of the interest group, which brings together members of the security industry, end users, technology experts and others to promote broader understanding of automated security, develop research products and additional resources and provide guidance on legislative and regulatory matters.

“I’m very passionate about how tech is transforming the way businesses execute their tasks and functions, and there’s great opportunity for it in the security services sector,” Reinharz said. “I look forward to working with SIA to position robotics and drones as mainstream, not science fiction.”

“Steve Reinharz is one of the security industry’s premier thought leaders on artificial intelligence and automation,” said SIA CEO Don Erickson. “We are thrilled to have him bring his expertise and enthusiasm to the AI, Drones and Robotics Interest Group and welcome him as chair, and we are excited about the value the panel will deliver to SIA’s membership under his direction.”

Reinharz is also the founder and CEO of three wholly owned subsidiaries of Artificial Intelligence Technology Solutions, including Robotic Assistance Devices, which offers a line of artificial intelligence-powered solutions for the guarding and facility management industries and has more than 225 units installed globally. He has more than 25 years of experience in the security industry and is a frequent speaker at ISC West, ISC East and other industry events.

Reinharz takes over the leadership position from Mark McCourt, vice president of business development for Viakoo, who led the interest group from its creation in 2017 until stepping down in March of this year.
