Disaster Zone Podcast: The Healthcare Workforce Shortage

The pandemic contributed, but is not the only reason.

Worker shortages are seemingly everywhere these days. Short order cooks, service staff and lifeguards, to name only a few I’ve seen highlighted recently.

An ongoing personnel shortage that is increasing and will impact each and every one of us is the subject of the latest Disaster Zone podcast, “Healthcare Worker Shortage.”

Like most issues these days, there are no simple answers to a multifaceted issue.

See the description of the podcast below and also the link to a Disaster Zone blog post that looks at what governors are doing.

“One of the things that the COVID Pandemic has highlighted is the growing shortage of healthcare workers. This is especially true in rural areas of the United States. Erin J. McLaughlin An employment attorney discusses the causes and impacts of this labor shortage and what is being done to address it. See a previous Disaster Zone Blog post directly related to this subject about an initiative by the National Governor’s Association (NGA) to work in concert with one another, Health Worker Shortage.”
