#AcronisCyberFitSummit Sponsor Spotlight: Scale Computing

Acronis
Acronis #CyberFit Summit

Acronis is very excited to welcome Scale Computing as a sponsor of the Acronis #CyberFit Summit in Miami.

Scale Computing’s CEO Jeff Ready will be presenting at the Summit on Tuesday, October 26 at 12:15 pm, in a session called Achieving Next-Level Business Resilience and Efficiency for Your Clients.

Prior to founding Scale Computing, Ready was co-founder and CEO of Corvigo, a Linux-based anti-spam appliance, where he oversaw the company from its launch, through funding, to acquisition. After the acquisition, Ready served as VP of Marketing at Tumbleweed Communications.

“We are seeing considerable demand from customers and partners for data protection, backup, and disaster recovery. Integrating the Scale Computing HC3 platform with Acronis helps meet these priorities in a simple and cost-effective way,” explained Ready. “We partnered with Acronis to help our MSPs be more successful meeting client needs, and participating in the Acronis #CyberFit Summit is a fantastic opportunity to spend more time with our joint managed service providers!”

Ahead of the Acronis #CyberFit Summit in Miami, we connected with Marlene Fernandez, VP of Marketing at Scale Computing, to learn more about how they help MSPs, some new tech they’re offering the IT channel, and some integral business advice:

In a nutshell, what should our attendees know about your company and what you can do to help make theirs more successful?

Scale Computing is a leading HCI and edge computing provider. We have a strong reputation in the industry for delivering customers’ resiliency for their operations, and end-to-end data protection. We at Scale Computing are proud to be closely partnered with Acronis at an integrated technology level, and we are planning some exciting joint product news at the event, so please stay tuned!

What kind of new tech will you be discussing or unveiling at the event?

We will be unveiling new technology we jointly developed with Acronis built for MSPs. This new platform will benefit MSPs so that they can increase their revenues through better service delivery, and result in better customer outcomes and higher customer retention and satisfaction.

How can clients benefit from your services/products?

Scale Computing and Acronis specialize in delivering every piece of a fully redundant, all-in-one infrastructure platform, ideal for deployment in production, backup, and DR environments. Last year, we began offering Acronis Agentless Backup for Scale Computing HC3, allowing for full virtual-machine backup and fast recovery for HC3 clusters. By pairing HC3 with the Advanced Cloud Backup Pack in Acronis Cyber Protect Cloud, customers can enjoy the benefits of easy-to-manage virtualization and advanced BCDR features. This innovation delivers easy, efficient, reliable and secure protection for all data and apps in on-premises and remote systems, in private and public clouds, and on mobile devices. Tell us your best piece of business advice for the IT channel audience at the Summit!

As you make decisions about what technology vendors to invest in, think about their track record in the channel. How do your technology vendors handle channel conflict? Have they been recognized by your peers as committed to their channel partners? At Scale Computing we are proud to have been a winner of the 2021 CRN Annual Report (ARC) Awards in both the Edge Computing category and the Hyperconverged Infrastructure category. This is the third consecutive year Scale Computing has been recognized as a CRN ARC Award winner. The company also swept all of the subcategories including Product Innovation, Support, Partnership, and Managed and Cloud Services in both Edge Computing and Hyperconverged Infrastructure.

As one of the most prestigious honors in the IT industry, the CRN ARC Awards have been recognizing and honoring best-in-class vendors that are committed to driving channel growth through innovation and outstanding channel performance for the past 36 years. This invitation-only survey of each vendor’s top channel partners, conducted by The Channel Company’s research team, included over 3,000 solution providers across North America. Survey participants were asked to rate their satisfaction with 66 vendor partners. Scores were given in 25 major product categories, based on performance across four criteria: product innovation, support, partnership, and managed and cloud services.

From a technical perspective, here are other points that we believe are best practices and beneficial to MSPs:

  • Use Infrastructure in which the storage, compute, and networking are designed from the ground up to work together holistically rather than piecemeal
  • Use data protection suites that are natively integrated with your infrastructure and designed to protect against multiple domain threats (data loss, ransomware, cryptojacking, data exfiltration, component failure, and so on)
  • Use infrastructure that easily supports the converging worlds of edge, security/surveillance, core, and cloud computing in a single platform
  • Use infrastructure that minimizes the need for specialists from multiple technology disciplines to be effective

What are the biggest changes you expect to hit the industry in the next year?

The video surveillance market today is shifting fast from analog to digital, due to the major shift from analog video cameras, CCTV, and proprietary recording appliances to digital IP-based cameras. The line that used to separate video surveillance and security from IT technologies has really started to blur. As a result, organizations are starting to support their video deployments using virtualization technology, thus capturing the benefits of virtualization that have been enjoyed by IT organizations for years now. This disruption means that there is ample opportunity for a solution provider to deliver added value and differentiate themselves in the market. We at Scale Computing are working with our partners to make them successful in this transition. You can read more about this from an MSP’s perspective here.

Acronis is tremendously grateful for the support of our sponsors like Scale Computing. The event overall, and all of the benefits attendees get out of attending, wouldn't be possible without them.
