Pure1 Updates

  • Pure Protect™ //DRaaS version 1.1 – New Features and Enhancements
    • The latest update removes the 5TB upper limit on the size of VMs for protection and failover jobs, although this limit still applies to failback. The protection job monitoring window now visually displays progress bars for local and replicated VM snapshot copies. VMware tags can be used to find and auto-enroll VMs into protection groups. A new Reports tab offers summaries of protection jobs and RTO summaries, detailing failover speeds and execution times per VM. Enhancements include an upgrade to the latest AWS EC2 instance type for better failover performance and improved search capabilities during initial DRaaS deployment. Additional improvements include direct download links for failback OVA packages and a more understandable Protection Group Start Time tooltip.
  • Edge Gateway Update
    • This release enhances the detection of stale Edge Gateway connections, ensuring more reliable operations. It also resolves a reconnection issue with the PES Messaging Service, improving the system’s resilience during resubscriptions. Security is strengthened with improved message ID generation. Additionally, error handling in communication with the PES Messaging Service is now more robust, enhancing overall observability and reliability.
  • New Planner Improvements: Enhanced Simulated Load Projections
    • The Pure1 Manage Planner has improved functionality to predict the resulting load when workload migrations between appliances are simulated. September 2023

Pure1 Updates

  • New Data Protection Feature
    • The Pure1 Manage – Assessment dashboard (login required) now features Resiliency Score, providing a high-level indicator on protection features in use within your fleet of FlashArray appliances. Data resiliency scoring works hand in hand with the Data Protection Assessment, which is all about following leading practices for configuration of these features.

    • The License Utilization tab now includes an updated graphical view for license and appliance actual and calculated data. You can now follow the usage of each individual appliance per selected license.
  • Pure1 User Security Upgrade
    • The Pure1 User Security Upgrade is a significant enhancement designed to bolster the security framework for Pure Storage users, ensuring that their data remains protected against the increasingly sophisticated threats in today’s digital world.
  • Enhanced Security with TOTP-based Two-step Authentication
    • The Pure1 User Security Upgrade introduces TOTP (Time-Based One-Time Password) two-step authentication, a security protocol that adds an extra layer of protection to the user authentication process. This method requires users to provide a second piece of evidence (a temporary code generated by their mobile device) along with their password when logging in. This dual-factor authentication ensures that even if a password is compromised, unauthorized access is still prevented unless the second factor is also present.
  • Mobile App Refresh: Security Meets Usability
    • The Pure1 Mobile App has undergone a significant refresh, incorporating biometric authentication alongside TOTP authentication for SafeMode multi-party approvals. This update enhances security and improves usability and readability.
