DRI and Maryland Dept. of Emergency Management Partner For Resilience Training
Throughout the week of Nov. 14, DRI International joined with the Maryland Department of Emergency Management (MDEM) to provide a special combination course on cyber resilience, business continuity and disaster recovery – the fourth class of this nature to date!
These training sessions, led by DRI Director of Product Development Rob Zegarra and DRI’s newest Cyber Resilience instructor, Rouz Hashemi, Global Cyber Attack Resilience Lead at Accenture, has helped educate close to 100 government employees from MDEM and other invited agencies.
“Through these partnerships, we’re helping states expand and increase their resilience capabilities,” said Zegarra. “We have plans to continue doing more courses next year, and hopefully develop partnerships with other state agencies and insights from cyber security firms like Accenture.”
“DRI is helping the State of Maryland integrate business continuity and cyber resilience through education and training,” said Ken Maloney, State Continuity Unit Supervisor at MDEM. “We are bringing together emergency managers and cyber professionals to collaborate to build a more prepared and resilient Maryland for when disaster strikes.”
