Beware: The Inspector General Commeth

All those pandemic funds will be audited!

With big pandemic relief money flowing from the federal government, I know what soon follows will be inspectors general coming to do audits of how those funds were expended and accounted for.

With sometimes limited guidance, people and agencies can become “experimental” in how they use funding. Add a couple of years to the timeline and those expenditures may not be considered “appropriate” to an auditor.

All I can say is keep really good records of how you administered the funds and what the criteria was for expending those funds and who the beneficiaries were.

I smell trouble ahead!
