Essentials 4 Job Security: Highlights From the 2024 WISF Giveback at ISC West

This annual initiative calls on the security industry to give back by supporting Dress for Success of Southern Nevada’s efforts to help women achieve financial independence.

The Security Industry Association (SIA) Women in Security Forum (WISF) thanks all companies and security industry professionals who participated in the fourth annual Essentials 4 Job Security Giveback, a program coinciding with ISC West that supports the efforts of Dress for Success of Southern Nevada (DFSSN) to help women build careers and achieve financial independence.

This initiative encourages exhibiting companies and their employees to donate new and gently used clothing to DFSSN to help local Dress for Success clients in Nevada – which has had the highest female unemployment rate in the United States – feel more confident and empowered as they interview for jobs, enter the workforce and achieve self-sufficiency.

Here are some highlights from the 2024 giveback and its many successes:

• We collected LOTS of clothing donations. When WISF loaded up a van with our collections, they wouldn’t all fit! We had to send a final box over separately. A special shout-out to those of you who spearheaded donation drives at your workplaces and shipped out boxes with your crates. Your companies’ efforts made a huge difference in the quantity of goods we were able to donate. And to everyone who posted on social media, your efforts paid off!
• We had hundreds of handwritten notes of encouragement to share with DFSSN’s clients. Some of our team members even encouraged note-writing at their offices before the show and shipped those out to Vegas. Amazing!
• Six clients of DFSSN joined us on Friday for a half-day of activities. They were inspired, educated and motivated by all they experienced: attending the WISF Keynote and Power 100 breakfast, visiting booths on the show floor to learn about career opportunities and enjoying lunch courtesy of Intel. Thank you to everyone who volunteered to share career advice, answer questions and accompany our guests on visits to the Resideo and Rapid Response Monitoring booths.
• Thank you to everyone who helped us move goods from the show floor each afternoon and get it to the pickup vehicle on Friday.
