After the Suez Canal blockage in March (read more here ), I think Business Continuity professionals everywhere had their eyes opened. The new lock is expected to be completed by 2030 (or 2027 by some estimates). In 1986 Congress approved a new lock, recognizing the need for additional capacity for these large freighters.
